Healthy Neighborhood Market Network

LAFPC's Healthy Neighborhood Market Network is a capacity building platform for small neighborhood markets operating in LA's under-served neighborhoods to grow their skills as healthy food retailers. LAFPC's Healthy Neighborhood Market Network builds the capacity of neighborhood market owners, managers, and staff to grow their business as a healthy food retailer by connecting them to training, resources and networks of experts and community-based organizations. LAFPC has hosted four, multi-lingual business and leadership conferences featuring industry experts from Whole Foods, Yummy.com, Unified Grocers, Coosemans Shipping, Fresco Community Market and many others. The trainings also connect small stores to healthy food distributors, community lenders, government representatives and non-profits. A total of 350 stores across LA County have been reached through organizing and outreach efforts through the Healthy Neighborhood Market Network.
